Arum italicum Linné, 1753 - Italienischer Aronstab, kozlac, talijanski kozlac, laški kačnik
Einige Pflanzen sind in allen Teilen giftig. So auch der italienische Aronstab, dessen Blütenform im Mittelalter seltsame Ängste hervorrief. Heute bewundern wir diese Pflanze, deren Blüten noch recht ursprünglich angelegt sind.
Zurzeit sind die Beeren dieser Pflanze reif, und ich bekomme häufig Anfragen, was das ist. Nun, es sind die Samen der Aronstabs, die hier so kräftig rot leuchten. Allerdings sind sie wegen der enthaltenen Oxalate und Scharfstoffe hochgiftig und dürfen keinesfalls gegessen werden. Vor allem Kinder sind versucht, sich eine Beere zu nehmen, da sie in der passenden Höhe sind und mit ihrer Farbe locken.
